Polish design has once again been awarded the most important award in the world of design, the Red Dot. This time it went to the Silia shower column, which was appreciated for its aesthetics, functionality and innovation combined with a unique design. The award ceremony will take place on June 24, 2024 at the Aalto Theater in Essen.

In search of good design and innovation

The Red Dot Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the world of design, recognized as a symbol of excellence and the highest quality. Receiving this distinction is a confirmation for designers of their skills and commitment, and additionally opens up new opportunities and ensures recognition in the industry.

Winning the Red Dot is quite a challenge due to the fact that the competition organizers are known for their strict evaluation and rigorous criteria. The award winners are designers who demonstrated not only creativity, but also excellent functionality, innovation and attention to detail. Thanks to this distinction, their work becomes desired by clients, and the designers themselves gain a reputation as leaders in their fields.

The award has been granted since 1955 by Design Zentrum Nordhein Westfalen based in Essen. It is sometimes called the "Oscar of design", which emphasizes its importance and influence on other creators around the world. The competition includes three main categories: product design, communication design and project concepts. The winning ideas are exhibited in the Red Dot Design Museum, located in the historic building of the former Zollverein mine in Essen.

Silia with honors

The Silia shower column definitely stands out from other products of this type. Its unique design is based on the shape of a classic tube, simplicity of form and smooth bends, which gives it modern elegance. There is also an innovation in the form of the shower head, which, despite its minimalist form, provides a wide stream of water - the same as in the case of a standard overhead shower. It quickly turned out that the rain shower was a perfect inspiration to create an entire collection that offers original design, the highest quality and a wide range of quiet luxury options.

Both the rain shower and the entire Silia collection are characterized by an interesting design and a wide range of products, but the process of its design and production also attracts attention, which was appreciated by the jury of the Red Dot Design Award. Silia was carefully designed by talented Polish designers, whose priority was to ensure aesthetics, comfort and pleasure of use. Before being introduced to the market, the manufacturer subjected the shower column, as well as the entire collection, to a series of rigorous tests carried out in the laboratory. This process included a thorough analysis of the quality of materials, precision of workmanship and resistance to use.

– The Silia rain shower attracts attention with its design, but it is worth paying attention to the fact that this product complies with the principles of sustainable development, with particular emphasis on ecological issues. We gave up on plastics and ensured high quality, which guarantees a long life, without the need for frequent replacement, and thus costs, production waste and unnecessary CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. However, it does not end with the products themselves, because all of them are packed in cardboard boxes that can be reused and ultimately recycled. They are made of colorless, uncoated cardboard with a single-color print. We make sure that the boxes are FSC certified and have a print made with water-based ink - explains the designer of the shower column, Anna Słowińska-Owczarek.

Such distinctions go to products that not only meet functional requirements, but also become an inspiration and an enriching element in the home space.

Now the Silia shower column has been awarded the Red Dot Award in the Red Dot Design Award: Product Design 2024 competition, which is another recognition of Deante's achievements in design and production. However, this is not only the success of one company - it is also a tribute to Polish design as a whole.
