Once the decision concerning the selection of a washbasin has been made, the next important step is choosing the right tap. We all know how irritating the use of a too short tap, splashing water, or difficult access to the knobs can be. In order not to make a mistake, it is good to know some general rules.

• The height of the tap is different for traditional and countertop washbasins. If the washbasin has a tap hole, a low-body tap will be perfect because the water flowing out of it will not be splashing. In the case of a countertop washbasin, the tap will be installed between its edge and the wall directly on the counter. Such an installation method is suitable for taps with a raised body, which can easily reach higher washbasins.

• The spout range determines whether the water jet will get far enough. In the case of a larger washbasin, choose a tap with a longer spout, e.g., Kalia. However, if you want to equip a small washbasin with an equally small tap, you should look for a model with a movable aerator, which will allow you to direct the water jet with precision and comfortably wash your hands. • Pro-ecological solutions save water, thus relieving the strain on our home budget. It is worth paying attention to the flow class of the tap – class Z (less than 15 litres per second) or A (less than 25 litres per second) are recommended for washbasin taps. The thing that allows you to thoroughly wash your hands with a small amount of water is the aerator placed at the end of the spout. Thanks to it, the water jet is aerated, soft, and regular. Another interesting way to reduce water consumption is the eco-click function, available, among others, in the Hiacynt series of taps. While turning on the water, a slight resistance of the handle indicates reaching half of the maximum water flow that is sufficient to wash your hands. Of course, if necessary, you can turn the water on completely by further lifting up the handle.

• Easiness of keeping clean is a feature of taps covered with high-quality, shiny, and, at the same time, resistant to abrasion chrome. Smooth, streamlined surfaces, free of nooks where limescale could accumulate, are particularly quick to clean.
